i have this same question to answer, im still not sure about how to answer it but i need to refer it to theorists such as vygotsky

These are above some of the major points that benefits a lot to the children's.

Creative art is also an open ended activity. Children can go as far as they wish with it - it isn't following a particular formula, it is about doing their thing. It allows them to have a real active role in their learning (very Vygotsky!!) Also creative activities allow for lots of communication, lots of chat and social development, again something the theorists love!
