this q relates to a new child care service of 50 children of various ages.and 2 with a disability I've been reading and researching just really stuck .

1. Define sustainability

2. Identify ways children can participate in sustainable practice

Use a worm farm or composting bin to reduce food waste in the education and care service. Children will be encouraged to place food scraps into separate containers for use in the worm farm or the composting bin. Educators will discuss with the children and families which scraps worms can eat and which foods can be composted. The children will be involved in maintaining the worm farm and compost. Discuss sustainable practices with the children, by Include recycling as part of everyday practice at the education and care service. Have raised garden beds, accessible path ways for wheel chair access. Evaluate by asking children what they have learnt and what they would like to be included. Evaluate their learning and understanding of composting and growing their own foods. What they like or dislike

3.Consider where there might be opportunities to introduce the concept or improvement of sustainability

4. Provide experiences for children to experience outdoor space responsibly

Take into account differing abilities to participate

not to sure how to include how would you achieve these goals? Include in your answer some possible considerations and challenges. How would you evaluate the outcome of these strategies?

Q: Provide experiences for children to experience outdoor space responsibly// PLEASE am I on the right track ?

plants that encourages birds, butterflies and other insects

Natural play spaces can provide rich opportunities for children to explore new ideas and to develop their interests and understanding. Children can grow plants, herbs, flowers, vegetables to eat, and experience the life cycle of plants in gardens. They can learn the different smells of plants and textures for children to explore. Have more natural blocks and wood etc for children to build as they will build differently with their imaginations for the outdoors. Give children opportunities to climb, balance and transfer their weight. I can also give children opportunities to develop stability such as balancing, rolling, running, and skipping it will give them various movement skills. . sandpits for sensory, symbolic and physical play ,water play areas for sensory play

The children will learn about water conservation when watering the plants and when we have water for play experiences etc.

I can evaluate these skills often as they play freely you can see how they develop by their balancing getting better or being able to climb without help. The children will be able to tell you what fruit or vegetables they are planting how they grow etc. Need to take into considerations of what to plant as some children may be allergic to certain plants etc.as some children with a disability may be more sensitive to certain plants or even some grass. Have gardening equipment that a child with a disability can use easily
