Jett is a five year old. He is the youngest of four boys. His brothers are very athletic but Jett prefers drawing and making things. The older boys tease him and tell him he is a ‘fairy’ and a ‘girl’. The educator at Jett’s early learning centre is surprised when his behaviour becomes more and more aggressive. She wonders why gentle Jett is turning into a bully

1. Identify the psychological and emotions development concerns that may affect Jett’s development. In your response consider his self esteem and self concept and the emotional support he may need.

2. What is the process for reporting these concerns within the children’s service? For example who do you report to, steps to follow?

3. Outline two of the possible long term impacts for children if their emotional and psychological needs are not met.

I'm a FDCer So in my situation I would report to my coordinator discuss it with her and speak with the child's parents

In a center I assume you would go to your group leader and follow the centers policy and procedure (if there is one??)

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

If the educator is the assistant she would go to the GL if it is a GL she would probably document his behaviour and then go to the assistant director or director.

Usually with issues like this it is better to do some extensive obs and document everything as evidence to support your concerns.
