Question why is it important to create opportunities to support emerging skills of individual children.

They only thing I can come up with is that caregivers are great role models for children

HI there

You would start by observing the children. If for instance they are enjoying building sandcastles in the sandpit, you would extend their skills by providing resources to extend their play and their motor skills using things like plastic spades, cups to measure and pour sand, by adding water for a different sensory experience and also by modelling new ideas.

This can be applied to all areas including fine motor, home corner play, coloring, craft etc.

Hope this helps
