Because:

- It may assist you with your observation or you may even assist the parent

- this creates a good relationship with the family and the service (overall)

- show's that you are focusing and caring about the child

- Allow trust between educators, parents and service, as trust is a vital aspect of running a service.

All of the above allows you to build more successful in an operational sense and child safe/enjoyment sense.
