  • Top up with shaving cream

  • Using an eye dropper, take a few drops of food colouring and squirt it on top of the shaving cream.

  • Watch the food colouring fall through the shaving cream into the water.

  • Continuing using different colours of food colouring to squirt onto the shaving cream as it falls into the water.

  • Add more shaving cream, with more colours.

Hints and Tips:

  • Almond Oil is a hidden ingredient found in shaving cream. So please be careful with those children who may have allergies.
  • The water is like the air, and the shaving cream is like the clouds. And as the clouds get saturated with water, they produce rain.
  • Add less water and less shaving cream to see what happens.
  • Each child can do their own.
  • Use paper/paper towel to make a print of the colours on top of the shaving cream.
  • Time how long it takes for colours to fall through into the water.
