Here some ideas you can use...

1) Felt boards with felt people

2) Blocks with people (or) animals

3) Playdough with shape cutters and rolling pins

4) A trough/wide bucket with mixed with sand and water, add buckets and spades or old kitchen utensils

5) Assorted puzzles

6) Drawing with crayons, textas or pencils

I'm chasing more activities that the 7mth (but she is behind - still can't sit up) old can do...and the older children can extend on to...

I tried to write to you last night...I was about to click submit when my battery power turned off... that'll teach me!

I just made sure I plugged my battery in now...

It's definitely a hard task to come up with activities for a baby to do. Especially for a 7 month old... Since the baby isn't able to sit up properly try sitting the baby up and putting pillows around the baby to support them. You will have to be near when doing this because they may end up losing balance and eventually fall into the pillows. Also try sitting behind while the baby sits in front of you, provide support and place a few toys in front of the baby so they could try to reach for them. It's a good idea to put a pillow in front of the baby so if they fall forward they are less likely to cause an injury to themselves. You can try placing the baby on their tummy for tummy time which builds up their strength to begin supporting their body weight and eventually sitting up. Place baby in a rocker or a baby bouncer, hang mobiles (with dangling things hanging off) for the baby to try and reach for. It's also a good idea to provide lots of toys that the baby could manipulate.
