Can anyone give me the link to where I can see the award wages for people working in childcare?

I found one but thats from 2006 so not sure if it correct.

As a fully qualified (Diploma completed) GL what is the award wage / hour?

Just frustrated as work still has not given me an answer as to what my hourly rate is and I just want to be very clear on what the award wage is for someone with my qualifications for when I do find out

Cheers

Hey Fefe,

I just wanted to attach a copy of the Children’s Services Award 2010 which states the minimum wage an employer can pay you. I think anything more is completely up to the employer itself. Also, you may need to find out your qualification code to determine what your minimum hourly wage is because I don’t understand the coding that is used… however I will try and find out for you…

Also I just wanted to let you know that I have created a new topic called “How much do you get paid in childcare” in Career in Childcare. I’ve just posted my thoughts about the childcare wages in Australia and my experiences… would love to hear about your views on this issue. Here is the link: http://www.aussiechildcarenetwork.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&p=2198#p2198

Hi,
I work in a centre on Brisbane's Northside, QLD and I found it pretty difficult to find the information on the new pay rates at first, but did eventually find it.
Basically the rates (for QLD employees) on the new award wage are as follows:
Cert III: (Level 3 on the new rating scale).
On commencement: $18.06 hour
After 1 year: $18.68 hour
After 2 years: $19.27 hour.

Diploma: (Level 4 on the new rating scale).
On commencement: $21.27 hour.
After 1 year: $21.59 hour.
After 2 years: $21.92 hour.

If you want to find more information on the new hourly rates for Cert III, Diploma and Advanced Diploma etc. go to this webside:
http://www.fwa.gov.au/documents/modern_awards/pdf/MA000120.pdf
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Angie
