Case study 1

You are in charge of a group of three (3) to four (4) year old children in the outdoor play area when one of the children kicks his ball over the fence. He starts crying and tells you his mum is going to be angry because this is a new ball, and he wasn’t allowed to bring it to Kindy. You only have a small group of children, so you decide to quickly jump over the fence to retrieve the ball.

You were not gone for more than a minute and you could see the group through the fence the whole time.

A short time later another Educator comes out to the yard to relieve you and says that the Nominated Supervisor has asked to see you in her office. She has found out that you jumped the fence to retrieve the ball and asks you to explain your actions.

4. You are upset with yourself because you like to follow the services policies and procedures. When you looked at the supervision policy and procedure you realise it is not very clear for situations like this. You are worried that other educators might do the same as you.

Who could you verbally report your concern to in the workplace?

5. After your discussion with the above person, you realise that the policy and procedure needs to be reviewed. List the steps in reviewing a policy and procedure.

Please help me with this equations. i have to submit it by 2nd of february.

Ok so maybe for outdoor areas there needs to be a supervision plan put in place where Educators are put in different supervising areas. Also, two Educators should be put in the outdoor playground so children are constantly supervised and are safe.
