Hi Im kinda stuck a bit on the following task in the diploma of early childhood education and care

CHCECE016 Assessment Task 2 Part B:

There have been three reported cases of conjunctivitis in the children’s service you are working. Create a notification document designed to inform parents about the outbreak. Include what regulation and NQS element this relates to. Attach on A4 paper.

so far i have this but feel i need to include more...and when including the Regulations and NQS do i need to include them in the Notification document to Parents???????

Conjunctivitis Outbreak

Dear Parent or Guardian

This is to inform you there have been a few cases of conjunctivitis (infection of the eye) at the centre. If your child/ren show any of the following signs please keep them at home until all discharge from the eyes has stopped. Children displaying any of the above symptoms while at the centre will be sent home.

• Symptoms of Conjunctivitis are:

• Itchy or irritated eyes

• Swollen eye lids

• Sensitivity to light

• Pus and drainage from the eyes

Should your child/ren develop the following symptoms please see your Doctor or local Health care provider.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to talk to our staff

In regards to Regulations this relates to:

88 Infectious diseases
(1) If there is an occurrence of an infectious disease at an education and care service, the approved provider of the service must ensure that reasonable steps are taken to prevent the spread of the infectious disease at the service.
Penalty: $2000.

(2) If there is an occurrence of an infectious disease at a centre-based service, the approved provider of the service must ensure that a parent or an authorised emergency contact of each child being educated and cared for by the service is notified of the occurrence as soon as practicable.
Penalty: $2000.

(3) If there is an occurrence of an infectious disease at a family day care residence or approved family day care venue, the approved provider of the family day care service must ensure that a parent or an authorised emergency contact of each child being educated and cared for at the residence or venue as part of the service is notified of the occurrence as soon as practicable.

Penalty: $2000.

In regards to the NQS:

Element 2.1.4 - Steps are taken to control the spread of infectious diseases and to manage injuries and illness, in accordance with recognised guidelines.
