Heya,

Just started my Cert 3 (a couple of days ago) and would just like some feedback to see if what I've written for Q1 is on the right track.

Thanks

1. In your own words, describe in one sentence each, 6 major job responsibilities/duties that you would be required to carry out each day as per the job description.

My answer (I've done five so far)

a) Ensuring the safety of children by providing adequate supervision, maintenance of the centre’s environment and adhering to all health and safety policies specific to the centre.
b) Assist childrens’ development of the outcomes stated in EYLF through planned daily activities (e.g. painting, story time), unstructured play, daily routines and any other learning opportunities
c) Support the room leader to prepare activities during the day/week and assist with the planning of future activities
d) Communicate with families regularly to update them on their child’s progress and take on board any concerns or requests they might have with regards to their child’s care
e) Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development and training to ensure one’s knowledge is always current

Right, I've re done them slightly as I wasn't happy with a couple of my answers.

a) Ensuring the safety of children by providing adequate supervision, maintenance of the centre’s environment and adhering to all health and safety policies specific to the centre.

b) Assist childrens’ development of the outcomes stated in EYLF through planned daily activities (e.g. painting, story time), unstructured play, daily routines and any other learning opportunities

c) Support the room leader to prepare and clear away activities during the day/week and assist with the planning of future activities

d) Communicate with families to update them on their child’s progress and take on board any concerns or requests they might have with regards to their child’s care

e) Attend to the mental, physical and emotional needs of each child as required (toileting, feeding, first aid, answering questions, comforting)

f) Keep records (hazard/injury/medication) up to date and ensure daily checks are completed (cleaning, equipment)

Yes, I'd say you're on the right track

I'd also choose your second post because I think it's more appropriate as you changed e and f! Good thinking!
