Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCPR509A
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
Describe what you need to do when documenting your observations. Include everything you need to include in the written account and how it should be written. Give reasons.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
When documenting your observations you need to be aware of the centre’s policies and the states legislation in regards to documenting children’s development and filing them appropriately for confidentially and privacy purposes. The observation must have the child's name, age, date, time, setting and indicate what information you are wanting to gather. It is also important to write clearly and accurately about what you are observing and the language that you use needs to be clear and descriptive to explain how the child is undertaking a particular activity.

Description and Message:
I have only been in childcare for 17months and since starting i have only needed to write learning stories. Now i am doing my diploma and the books that i am using still have assignments using the previous observation methods. Can someone please let me know if my answer sounds correct or needs adding too.

Thanks heaps
Lou

With your response, you're on the right track, so far so good.

I'm attaching a observation tutorial which you can have a look at.

Hope this helps,
