What codes of practice should you follow in an Early Childhood Educational and Care service that ensure you are working ethically and ensuring the rights of the child when providing healthy food and drinks.
I am on this question since yesterday and still haven't figured out what the answer is. My proposition is:
Chapter 3 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code
Standard 3.2.2 Food Safety practices and general requirements
- Handling Skills and Knowledge
- Food Handling controls
-Health and Hygiene requirements of food handlers
The Code of Practice for Food Labelling and Promotion (the Code) has been developed as a mechanism for the food industry to aid consumers in their decision making through the provision of consistent and accurate information about food products.
The Code covers:
1. Daily Intake Guide (DIG) labelling scheme
2. Date marking
3. Allergen labelling
ECACE Code of Conduct Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics- This code provides a framework for thinking about the ethical issues early childhood professionals encounter in their everyday work. Rather than being a set of rules to follow, the Code is an aspirational document which provides an ethical compass.
I. In relation to children, I will:
10. Work to ensure children are not discriminated against on the basis of gender, age, ability, economic status, family structure, lifestyle, ethnicity, religion, language, culture, or national origin.
I am sure about the first Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and 50/50 on Code of Ethics
