Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Early childhood education
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
I have been aske to describe and give a brief outline for two organisational policies that a person in the role of educator must follow (other than child protection).

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I have looked up policies for my centre and I was wondering if the educational program and practice policy was an example of an organisational policy or am I on the wrong tracks?

Yes that could be one... Another could be:

- Guiding Children's Behaviour policy
- Grievance policy
- Child Supervision policy
- Infectious Diseases policy

Hope this helps,

Thank you Lorina.

I am still slightly confused though......sorry. In the policy and procedure section I am trying to complete there is that question which you answered above and another question which is......describe the name and give a brief outline of two statutory requirements an educator must follow. So I thought child protection and workplace health and safety? but how is that different to organisational polices? Sorry. Thank you again g=for your time.

Keira.

Hi Keira,

Yeah these policies can get a little confusing. Organisational policies are the ones you will find in your centre's policy and procedures manual. The policies listed in there are made by the organisation of your centre. Statutory Requirements are policies or guidelines made by the law. So, yes I'd say the same as you and go with Child Protection and Workplace Health and Safety.

Hope this clears up any confusion,
