Just over a week ago I made an anonymous online complaint about a centre in my local community. I had numerous concerns regarding the safety of the children and the suitability of the environment being provided for children. I was unsure of exactly what would be considered a true violation by the Education Standards Board that I simply put pretty every issue even if it was small so they would know to be vigilant. My state thankfully gives the opportunity to put the application in as both anonymous but to also leave your details if you wanted updates or were happy to be contacted for further information.
Thus far I have received no emails or phone calls/text messages regarding the outcome or asking further questions (admittedly I feel I was fairly thorough in my report so I wouldn't be surprised if there was no questions to be asked). Does anyone know how long it tends to take authorities to do checks of centres after a complaint? Would a week or so be a realistic frame of time to expect a check to be done?
Furthermore, if a check has been done how long before there is any kind of outcome? I want to know what is being done about these issues and that the children's safety is being taken care of. My state has a published list of 'current compliance action' (and historical too but that's beyond the point) and of course there is the ACECQA website's publication of centre ratings so I could check that. My question is how long after an initial report could I expect to potential see something if anything?
Part of me is nervous about looking because I fear, despite there being many safety issues and in my opinion clear need for something to be done that I will look and they will have done a check and nothing will be done.
This is a link to my last post so you can get an idea of what my concerns were if you are curious: https://acn-stage.aussiechildcarenetwork.com.au/community/topic/guidance-on-possibly-dobbing-a-centre-in-12223
