I am working on developing my own sustainbility plan for my assessment:

I have developed my own sustainable practices that I plan to include on the plan such as:

e.g

composting

green cleaning

water tanks

using natural resources for craft

gardening ie veggie garden/plant garden and natural play areas

worm farm

Recycling system ie recylcing items such as newspaper, containers, magazines to use for play, art and craft, to extra container for toys and supplies

Resuable drink bottles

Drying clothes and toys to naturally air dry

Making own paint and playdough

Turning off lights when not in use

Energy saving bulbs

etc

This is some the strategies to plan to add to the plan.

What else do I need to add in a sustainability management plan?

Is there a template that I can work off to use a guide?

I plan to develop the plan is a table format.

Kind regards

I do have 5 different sustainability checklists available that cover a specific environmental area e.g. chemicals, water, waste etc. These checklists are intended for services to become aware of their performance and work practices within key environmental areas. It enables the centre to plan and implement changes in order to develop good environmental practices throughout the centre.

You can find them here:

This may give you an idea on what to include on the plan...

Hello KK! I am very passionate about sustainable practice in the workplace and will be following this thread with interest. Have you thought about ways you can include sustainable practice in the daily routine with the children such as teaching them to be mindful of how much food they serve themselves so they don't need to scrape their plates. Also the way in which the children use the water at the centre and ways that the water can be recycled such as watering the plants with leftover water.
