Hi

I was wondering what level am I supposed to be paid at? I have had my diploma since 2017 and am qualified to run a room (which I have in 2019 for 6months) and acting temporary room leader in 2021 for 2 months. So, I have the qualification but also have the experience. This year I have started my Bachelor in Early Childhood and Primary and did not want to take the role as room leader, as I would not be be able to give a 100% , however will still assist. I am looking at a new position closer to home, more hours to give to my studies as I currently commute to work, where the new job is a 5 mins walk from my house. However, the owner lady said I would be at level 3.1 and I said, 4.1. Am I correct, please let me know asap. thanks

Since you have a Diploma Qualification as an assistant you will be on level 3.4.

Level 3.1 is for a newly graduated cert 3 qualified educator.

Hi Lorina

Thank you.

So having my Diploma since 2017 and having the experience as well, still.keeps me at level 3.4? How much will that be? Currently I am on $27 an hour as a permanent part-tme however working 37.5 hours a week. I'm assuming that level 3.4 is lower.

Hi I started working in june 2015 as an assistant educator with a certificate 3. I completed my diploma in August 2015. What level should I have been on 3.1 or 3.4. From 13th july 2017 I have been on 4.2. I would like to know if I have been on the right level. I am currently at the same centre and have completed 7 years . I like to know if I am entitled to move up to 4.3.

Yes unfortunately that's the only level for a diploma assistant - regardless of experience. You can however negotiate your wage since you have 5 years' experience. At the moment the hourly wage for Level 3.4 is $26.66/per hour.

Hello, adding to conversation.. i have been a team leader for 5 years, working for 7 years with the same employer. I plan on applying at a different centre. Would it be right to say then that if I got a team leader position I would be at 4.3 straight away?
Thanks for the help 🙂

Yes! Due to your experience and years in service.

The levels are based on years in service. Some believe that it is based on how long you have been at the centre, then when you start at a new centre you have to restart your level. No, it's based on your overall years of service.

So yes, you will be on level 4.3.
