Hello,

Was just wanting some input from other centres on how you would do incursion budgeting. Do you have a limit on how many you can have a month? Or a budget every year? And what would your budgets be?

Thanks in advance

Incursion budgeting can vary widely between centres, but here are some common practices and considerations:

1. Setting a Budget:
Centres often have an annual budget for incursions, which includes field trips, guest speakers, and special activities. This budget is usually determined based on the centre's overall financial plan and priorities.

2. Monthly Limits:
Some centres set a monthly limit on the number of incursions to ensure they stay within budget. This helps in spreading out expenses and avoiding overspending in any given month.

3. Budget Allocation:
The budget for incursions can vary, but a typical range might be $500 to $1,000 per month, depending on the size of the centre and the frequency of incursions.

4. Funding Sources:
Centres might allocate funds from their general budget, seek grants, or charge a small fee to parents to help cover costs.

5. Tracking Expenses:
Keeping detailed records of all expenses related to incursions is crucial. This includes transportation, entrance fees, and any materials needed for the activity.

6. Planning and Prioritizing:
Centres often plan incursions well in advance and prioritize them based on educational value and relevance to the curriculum.

7. Review and Adjust:
Regularly reviewing the budget and expenses helps in making adjustments as needed to ensure the centre remains financially healthy.
