Hello there!

I just attended a few interviews for an ECT position. Some of the employers have mentioned a 6 month probation period will be in place when I start working with them. I should have asked what that would consist of... but I forgot to.

Can someone enlighten me on what a probation period might generally consist of? Thank you! :giggle:

Hi wwy0011,

Probabtion periods can consist of different things depending on the organisation.

Usually and at the most basic level it's either nothing or you'll be given a document to sign/keep acknowledging you've successfully completed probation, or just a simple, casual debriefing at the end of the 6 months - that sort of thing.

Some places might do a bit more but really its just a formality for new employees

Wouldn't worry about it, but there's no harm in asking if there's anything they would like you to do.

Hope that's helpful, put some links below with more info :)
